PASTORAL RESIDENT: Edvard Janvier

Edvard S. Janvier is a servant of Jesus Christ with a deep passion for the health and flourishing of the local church—both in nurturing believers and in reaching those who have yet to hear and embrace the Gospel. Central to his ministry is the conviction that while the Gospel transcends every culture, it also works through faithful cultural understanding to display the beauty of Christ among all peoples. This conviction, shaped by more than three decades of service in the body of Christ, informs his preaching, his engagement with neighbors, and his vision for the church's mission in an increasingly diverse world.

By God’s grace, Edvard has had the privilege of pursuing formal theological training, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Carver College in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Master of Arts in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College. Prior experience in the field of electromechanical engineering has also grounded him in the realities of everyday vocational life, cultivating a shepherd’s heart that seeks to meet people where they live and work. He regards these experiences not as personal accomplishments, but as providential gifts through which God has prepared him for gospel ministry.

Edvard and his wife, Dorline, are joyfully raising their three children—Ani-Yaqar, Karis, and Destene—in the Naperville/Wheaton area. Together, they seek to invest in their community through hospitality, service, and Gospel-centered outreach. Whether volunteering, building relationships, or engaging in thoughtful conversations that point others to Christ, the Janvier family desires to reflect the love of Jesus and to see lives transformed by His grace.

As a pastoral resident at Cross of Christ Fellowship, Edvard is eager to continue growing as a shepherd, serving alongside a congregation committed to proclaiming and treasuring Christ in the heart of downtown Naperville.
